Traditionally, fleet managers and procurement departments have had to buy a range of specialist vehicles to fulfil a range of specialist tasks. With CAMELEON - one vehicle with a number of interchangeable special bodies, can perform a wide range of tasks. Why have a gritter and snowplough sat idle for ten months a year when that vehicle could be put to use throughout the year in different roles?  Why replace an entire specialist vehicle after seven to ten years - when you could simply replace the vehicle and retain the expensive special bodies.  Special bodies - we call them modules - could potentially outlast vehicles by a factor of three to one.  Real long-term cost savings are obvious.

TOTAL FLEXIBILITY

CAMELEON is designed to offer mission commanders and fleet managers very broad force packaging flexibility / fleet management flexibility. Utilising OVIK's Modular Mission System, the simple, crew-operated mission module changer combines with a range of specialist mission modules to provide unrivalled, cost-effective flexibility.

To date, over thirty CAMELEON modules have been designed with seven reaching full development including the troop carrier / patrol vehicle, weapons platform, accommodation and command units, fuel bowsers, power generators and fully armoured 'instant' sentry posts / checkpoints. Further modules are under development. The system has a wide range of applications including defence, NGO and disaster relief as well as commercial use in off road terrain.
